Two thousand years ago, the Romans used tables known as Triclinium for communal dining. These low tables allowed guests to recline comfortably while enjoying their meals.

The Triclinium featured four designated positions:

  1. Host Position: The second position from the left was reserved for the host, who was Jesus.

   2. Servants’ Positions: The first positions from both the left and right were for the two servants, facilitating easy access to assist the guests. According to biblical accounts, these servants were John, the youngest disciple who leaned on Jesus, and Peter, known as “the rock.”

    3. VIP Guest Position: The third position from the left was allocated for the guest of honor, which in this context was Judas. His name suggests he hailed from the city of Kiryat, located in the south, distinguishing him from the other disciples who came from the north.
