Description
The Lord laid upon him the guilt of us all. — Isaiah 53:6
This is the first of three times during the Stations of the Cross that Jesus falls to the ground. It reminds us that Jesus suffered much on the way to His death. The falls He endured hurt Him very much, because He was so weak and tired from carrying the cross. This station serves as a reminder that we are called to suffer with Jesus and to be willing to accept whatever suffering comes our way.
